Financial Controller job opportunity for a manufacturing business based in Irvine

Our client, a well established and growing manufacturing business based in Irvine, has a new job opportunity for a Qualified Accountant to join them as Financial Controller.
Your new role
As part of the site leadership team, you will have a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the business and will work closely with operations managers and directors providing meaningful insight and analysis to support decision-making.
Key responsibilities will include:
1. All aspects of financial management, leading and developing a team of 3 in the finance function.
2. Responsibility for financial reporting and management of financial information, remuneration, tax and statutory accounts.
3. Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team; involvement in Insurance and capital investment appraisals.
4. Ongoing development and preparation of all budget and forecasts including production of and presentation of the pack to the Managing Directors.
5. Responsible for all accounting functions including all general accounting, statutory accounts, tax returns, management accounts and cash management.
6. Ensuring information systems and technology are adequate for the business, effective, up to date, secure and operational.
7. Management of monthly salary process in conjunction with Group HR.
What you'll need to succeed
1. Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA & CIMA) with at least 5 years post-qualification experience ideally across several disciplines.
2. Excellent communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to manage, lead and motivate people at all levels of the organisation.
3. Experience working in an ERP environment would be an advantage.
4. Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
5. Excellent planning and organising skills, ability to multitask, plan and prioritise work schedule and work within agreed timescales.
6. Resilience and be capable of working under pressure in a demanding environment.
7. Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving ability with high accuracy.
8. Strong commercial awareness, business acumen.
9. Teamwork and collaboration and the ability to build effective partnerships.
