The role We are looking for a Junior Design Engineer to support the overall design process and modify construction drawings in compliance with the latest DNO/IDNO G81 Standards to gain approvals for the new electrical infrastructure, up to 11kV. An idea of what you'll be doing: Design and plan electricity distribution networks primarily between LV and 11kV. Assist the overall design team with the production of detailed drawings across a variety of projects. Support compliance through reviewing construction drawings in line with the DNO/IDNO G81 Standards for approval. Assist the design team in producing and updating layouts. Support the Design Engineers in ensuring compliance with Quality Management Systems and Safety Procedures. Assist in the creation of detailed protection and metering single line diagrams. Liaising and working with other internal disciplines ensuring client requirements are understood and reviewed appropriately for design to be successful. Requirements When you join you will go through our top-notch induction and onboarding process and have opportunities to develop further through our in-house training academy. You'll have a proven track record of: Follow day to day instructions from Design Engineers ensuring set deadlines are achieved. Create and submit progress reports, assisting with creating of broader design report requirements. Support design changes with clients, IDNO & civils teams, escalating accordingly. Support the completion of pre-construction risk assessments. Provide technical advice and assistance to other members of staff. You'll already have experience & qualifications in: Proficient in the use of Productivity and Collaboration Software such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint etc. across multiple platforms such as smart phones, tablets, laptops etc. Excellent communication, including ability to adapt your communication styles and outstanding listening skills with ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to use own initiative as well as work collaboratively as part of a team. Good understanding of the electrical power distribution industry and its standards, practices and procedures. Ability to operate AutoCAD software to assist Design & Technical Engineer in producing & updating layouts.
