About the role
About the Role:
Are you passionate about working with people to promote independence and dedicated to making a difference to people’s lives? We would love to hear from you! We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic person to join the Kettering Adult Social Care Community Team in North Northants Council (NNC).
You will be responsible for managing a caseload of individuals; assessing social care needs; developing, coordinating, and reviewing care support, as well as ensuring that we meet our duty to safeguard vulnerable individuals. You will be committed to working with customers in a person-centred way to support them to achieve effective outcomes.
You will be supporting people within the community to remain as independent as possible within their own home and reduce the risk of crisis support. Tasks may include, but are not limited to, assessment and provision of low-level mobility aids, assisting with home management tasks, provision of items to meet basic needs such as emergency food parcels, supporting individuals with housing, finances, medication, and follow-up appointments.
We are looking for people who believe it is important to ensure individuals have a choice and control over their own support needs. We want people who are committed, like us, to focus on the person, their strengths, and networks rather than routinely assessing people for services and eligibility. The three conversation model is paving a new way of working in adult social care, and we are looking for workers who are enthusiastic and passionate to work with us on this journey.
You need to have good organisational skills and be an effective communicator used to working in conjunction with a range of other organisations, including health and other professional colleagues. You will also have a strong demonstrable commitment to working from a strengths-based perspective.
We are committed to the development of the Social Care workforce. You will benefit from the support of motivated and committed colleagues, receive regular supervision, and have access to training and career development opportunities.
Applicants must hold a valid Driving Licence and have access to a car.
See AEW job description to understand the wider aspects of the role in the statutory setting and the person specification to see if you meet the requirements for the role.
We recognise that the application process can be time-consuming, and we want applicants to be supported to make the process as smooth as possible. If you would like to talk to someone about the role or application process, you can contact KetteringASC@northnorthants.gov.uk or call 01536 532444 and ask to speak to Jeanette Ward.
