About the Role:
* Teach Sociology at GCSE and A Level, inspiring and challenging students to develop a deep understanding of sociological concepts and theories.
* Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
* Utilize a range of teaching methods and resources, including discussions, debates, case studies, documentaries, and sociological research, to bring Sociology to life for students.
* Assess student progress, set challenging targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys and stretch the most able students.
* Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our Sociology curriculum remains relevant, challenging, and inspiring for all students.
* Foster a love of Sociology in students, encouraging them to explore social issues, develop their sociological imagination, and become informed and engaged citizens.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to maintain our high standards of teaching and learning.
* Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in Sociology education.

Ideal Candidate:
* Holds QTS or equivalent.
* Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Sociology, with a strong academic background and a passion for the subject.
* Demonstrates a passion for teaching Sociology and a commitment to inspiring and challenging students.
* Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills, with the ability to engage and motivate a highly able student body.
* Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and stimulating learning environment.
* Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for Sociology and relevant examination specifications, with experience of preparing students for high-stakes examinations.
* Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
