This post will be based at Pilgrim Hospital Boston but the successful applicant may need to travel to other sites within the Trust. You will need to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be confident speaking to patients, nursing staff, prescribers and other healthcare staff. Experience working as a pharmacy technician in a hospital or community setting is required.

Main duties of the job
You will be expected to participate in the existing weekend and bank holiday rotas within the pharmacy dispensary.
Person specification
Qualifications
* BTEC/NVQ in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent
* Registration as a pharmacy technician with GPhC
* A1/A2 Assessor (D32/D33) or equivalent experience, or be willing to study to achieve
* Health and Safety Training Certificate
* Managerial qualification
* Teaching Qualification (e.g. City and Guilds 7470)
* V1 (D34)
Knowledge, Skills and Aptitudes
* Able to work unsupervised
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Negotiating and influencing skills
* Good broad understanding of current hospital pharmacy practice and future developments
* Computer/IT Skills
* Good knowledge of Foundation Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technician and Assistant training programmes

* Able to travel between sites

* Pride in establishing and maintaining high standards of work
* Patience to enable delivery of training to staff of all abilities

* Ability to carry out Risk Assessments
* Previous experience working as a pharmacy technician in hospital pharmacy. Use of pharmacy specific computer system e.g. Ascribe or JAC
* Reflects on own practice and undertakes CPD
* Experience of training and mentoring staff.
