In our young person’s accommodation in Carn Brea Foyer - Redruth, our Relief Youth Development Workers work as part of a larger Support team to provide support services to people, some with complex needs who are experiencing substance misuse issues and/or mental ill health. You will be working nights on an adhoc basis covering sickness or annual leave to provide a safe, secure and supportive service. You will support and monitor the conduct, health and safety and general welfare of residents with a flexible and sensitive approach. You will ensure the safety of our customers at the Foyer and security of the accommodation is maintained at all times. Additionally, you will ensure a safe, supportive and non discriminatory environment is provided, working collaboratively with colleagues and with external bodies to ensure a timely and comprehensive service is delivered. You will support the young people to work to their strengths in order to achieve their identified agreed positive outcomes in an ever-changing environment. These are being offered on a relief contract basis, working flexibly to include nights from 9am to 9pm as and when cover is required. About The Candidate To be considered for the role of Relief Support worker, you will be/have: An ability to engage with a range of young people. A tenacity in seeking the best outcomes for young people. A good understanding of young people’s needs, safeguarding and emotional and mental health issues. An understanding of support needs and support planning. An understanding risk assessing and risk management. Ideally You Will Be Innovative and creative in your ways of working. Resilient and flexible in dealing with others. Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Confident in lone working and be a good team player.
