Scottish Ministers are looking to appoint up to two new Members to the Board of the Scottish Futures Trust (SFT). We value very highly the benefits of having different experience and points of view on our Boards and we are keen that people from all walks of life apply for public appointments. Scottish Ministers particularly welcome applications from women, disabled people, LGBT+ people, people from ethnic minority communities and people aged under 50.
The role of the Board of SFT is to provide leadership, direction, support and guidance to ensure the SFT delivers its functions effectively and efficiently and in accordance with the aims, policies and priorities of Scottish Ministers. SFT also has an investment subsidiary, SFTi,which holds minority investments in 41 community infrastructure public private partnership projects and a number of mid-market housing joint ventures.
The Board has responsibility for:
* taking forward the strategic aims and objectives for the body, as agreed with Ministers during the corporate planning process,
* promoting efficient, economic and effective use of public money, staff and other resources,
* ensuring effective arrangements are in place to provide assurance on risk management, governance and internal control,
* reviewing financial information concerning the management and performance of the body and approving the annual accounts, and
* appointing and setting appropriate performance objectives for SFT’s chief executive.
