Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Band 5 Nurse to join our friendly Oncology team on Laurel 2. The ward includes a 17 bedded inpatient area and the addition of the Acute Oncology Assessment Bay. We welcome applications from both experienced Band 5 NMC Registered Nurses and also student nurses who will be qualifying within the next 3 months. You will be well supported within the team to gain knowledge, skills and competencies within this specialised area. A flexible nature is required and previous experience in Oncological care would also be desirable, but not essential. For this particular post, we are currently unable to progress applications from overseas registered nurses that have not yet passed NMC OSCE and registration. Routine care such as; patient admission, meeting holistic care needs, complex care needs, providing End of Life care, symptom control, patient discharge, complex Fast Track discharge planning and working within the Acute Oncology Service will be expected of you. Additionally, establishing good working relationships with our dedicated clinical nurse specialist teams/practitioners, doctors, consultants, patient and visitors is also a priority.
