Job Description: Your new role In this exciting role as Procurement Buyer, you will work as part of the indirect buyer team responsible for a portfolio of supplier contracts within a Rolling Stock Manufacture, Service and Maintenance category. Location: Newton Aycliffe, (hybrid) 3 days office, 2 days home and some additional travel maybe required. Specifically, you will be responsible for the following deliverables: Supply Chain and Procurement Management Review purchase requisitions for accuracy and completeness, processing all indirect purchase orders in a timely manner. Challenging proposed sources where relevant to optimise supply base. Execution of RFQs and tenders and supporting Category Managers with negotiations and contractual queries. Build effective relationships with key stakeholders, providing sourcing guidance based on business needs for the deployment of accurate buying channels and tools (SAP, webshops, Purchase Card). Support Purchase to Pay activities during the implementation of process changes, providing education and training to ‘users’, reviewing and escalating P2P issues. Manage & maintain contracts and other supporting documents within the procurement repository. Ensuring compliance to HRE governance (supporting J-SOX audits). Pro-actively promote continuous improvement and participate in cross functional projects to identify and implement P2P enhancements, aligning with HRE’s digitisation procurement strategies Supplier Management Support the Category Management team in developing a supplier management plan for the suppliers used, providing performance data to supplier reviews and quarterly business reviews. To support the achievement of budgeted financial targets including TCO savings and working with Indirect Category Managers in creating long term supplier agreements and relationships that lead to optimising price reductions, HSE & quality improvements, and on time delivery performance. Investigate new suppliers, based on best price, quality, reliability and support and facilitating supplier due diligence on-boarding requests. Support ongoing supplier management with regards to achieving HRE Sustainability programme objectives (Ecovadis engagement, supplier sustainability performance).
