There needs to be some flexibility to work into the early evening if undertaking an assessment.
You will be working with vulnerable adults who potentially are unwell. Need to risk assess their safety on every assessment and take appropriate action to ensure their safety.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure that the requirements of the Mental Health Act 1983 (Amended 2007) – (MHA) are met and that patients' rights under the Act are upheld.
2. Focus on early intervention and prevention, interchanging between the AMHP hub and integrated CMHT’s as needed.
3. Carry a caseload and care coordinator responsibilities in integrated teams.
4. Prioritise and plan all MHA assessments requested in your own team within your working week.
5. Continually educate other professionals about the AMHP role and promote timely referrals.
6. Provide support to less experienced staff and practice experience for trainee AMHPs.
7. Receive and triage all referrals and pass to the appropriate service to prioritise.
8. Identify appropriate and inappropriate referrals and offer training.
9. Support CMHT AMHPs in circumstances where the number of referrals is unmanageable or unpredictable.
Key requirements:
1. AMHP and Social Work qualified
2. HCPC registered
3. Valid driving license with work insurance on their policy.
4. Working knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989.
5. Understanding of developments in Adult Mental Health and Social Care
6. Experience of working with the service user group
7. IT skills to support accurate and timely case recording
8. Able to use social work methods to promote positive change, independence, and wellbeing in accordance with assessed need.
