Salary range: £43,421 – £46,464 per annum (Plus additional 15% enhancement for unsocial hours)
Work location: Abingdon Police Station, Abingdon
Hours per week: 37 (rotating shift pattern) - we are open to discussions about flexible working

About the role
The Emergency Duty Team (EDT) is an out-of-hours service covering 126.5 hours of weekly operation. You will work on a rotating shift pattern, including some weekends and Bank Holidays, closely collaborating with partner agencies and co-located with Thames Valley Police at Abingdon Police Station.
As part of our team, you will:
* Provide a high-quality response to emergency referrals out of normal hours.
* Work a rotational shift pattern.
* Support and intervene with vulnerable adults, children, and families to address safeguarding concerns.
* Offer out-of-hours advice and guidance to professionals, and produce accurate, reflective reports.
* Be the first point of contact for professionals, vulnerable adults, children, families, or the public with urgent concerns.
* Conduct thorough, high-quality crisis assessments for children and families, promptly identifying risks, needs, and required services to promote safe outcomes.
* Apply legal and professional knowledge to balance protection, risk, and support, achieving positive outcomes.
Your shift pattern is carefully managed, fair, and equitable, consisting of blocks such as:
Monday – Thursday 5pm – 12:00 or 12:00 – 8:30am
Friday 4 – 12:00 or 12:00 – 8:30am
