Main duties of the job Key Responsibilities: Blood Sample Collection: Perform venepuncture to collect blood samples from patients following clinical guidelines. Patient Care & Comfort: Ensure patients feel at ease, addressing any concerns and managing anxious individuals professionally. Sample Processing: Label, store, and prepare blood samples for transportation to the laboratory, ensuring accuracy and compliance with protocols. Infection Control & Safety: Follow infection prevention procedures, including proper disposal of sharps and maintaining a clean working environment. Record Keeping: Accurately document patient details, tests requested, and sample collection in the clinical system. Stock Management: Maintain and replenish phlebotomy supplies, ensuring all necessary equipment is available.
