Sheffield Teaching Hospital is offering exciting opportunities for a Band 3 Phlebotomist to join our team and support our Phlebotomy Drive Through. In this role, you will be responsible for performing venepuncture procedures with accuracy and care. You will engage with patients, ensuring their comfort, and collect blood samples for analysis. As part of a dedicated team of healthcare professionals, you'll collaborate to provide exceptional patient care. What you can add: Collect blood specimens from patients using proper venepuncture techniques Ability to take good quality blood samples from hands, feet, arms with knowledge of veins accessed. Ability to take good quality samples on wards and walk in clinics. Perform the processing and packaging of samples for transportation to other laboratories following local protocols. Work in a safe manner in accordance with service, Directorate and Trust health and safety policies What you’ll need: GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English at level C/4 or above or some laboratory experience Willingness to undertake training and competency assessment to perform clinical patient observations Ability to follow and work to Standard Operating Procedures and Policy Experience with a range of laboratory techniques/working with variety of venepuncture equipment or relevant transferable experience in a clinical environment The benefits we can offer you in return: Putting People in Places to Care – be part of the NHSP community, by joining the bank and caring for patients with a team of people from all walks of life.
