We are currently working in partnership with a leading UK charity, who are looking to appoint Deputy Service Manager on a permanent basis to help support adults with Learning Disabilities. This will be a full-time position based in Tiverton and is offering an impressive salary £30,900. The ideal candidate will report directly to the Service Manager, and they may be required to deputise for their line manager in their absence. The perfect candidate will coach and manage all team leaders and retain overall people management accountability for all Support Workers within their setting/location group. Duties will include (but are not limited to): Supporting the Service Manager to understand, manage and ensure the delivery of the service’s key quality and safety priorities Ensuring that the necessary risk assessments and support plans are up to date, completed and compliant for the people in support Reviewing and updating life plans on a regular basis In partnership with the Service Manager, ensuring a flexible and person-centered rota is in place at all time Co-ordinating all matters relating to medication, ensuring all procedures are rigorously followed and all support colleagues are appropriately trained Experience required: Recent significant experience at a frontline management in field of learning disabilities in a regulated services environment Ensuring effective team communications, leading and motivating a team, coaching and mentoring Effective and efficient rota design and management Assessment and care planning for supported people Acting as a role model for good care practice involving the people we support Skills, knowledge and expertise required: Lead and manage people to achieve a positive culture and be a role model in all aspects of people leadership especially performance Communicate effectively with a supported person and their family/circle of support and other professionals Challenge poor practice and behaviour Undertake assessment, support planning, recording and report writing Manage time and resources effectively and efficiently Respond professionally, quickly, and flexibly in a crisis Lead and manage change Working hours: 37.5 hours per week including weekend, evening and over night shifts
