We now have an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer to join our established team based at the Woodlane campus at Falmouth University, Cornwall. This beautiful location makes the most of its regional context, just five minutes from the beach and surrounded by a stunning tropical garden. Based in The School of Architecture, Design and Interiors (SADI) at Falmouth University this successful interior design course has recently expanded to include separate interior architecture provision (previously it was integrated into the interior design course). You will join an ambitious and cohesive course team in the delivery of an expanding rosta of specialist courses tailored to the built environment. Active engagement will be expected for the marketing of the course to ensure top quality recruitment. About You An experienced academic &/or design practitioner, you will be interested in sharing your knowledge in relation to interior architecture, adaptive reuse, community design and sustainability across undergraduate levels of study. We would love to speak to candidates who are creative, entrepreneurial, committed, and ambitious with the academic and professional credibility to develop our reputation with the creative industries and beyond, both nationally and internationally. The ability to ‘inspire’ the next generation of designers is key to this role. Evidencing a specialism in, and knowledge of interior architecture is essential but the ability to teach more broadly in relation to design process, creativity, materiality and interior procurement through to relevant digital industry specific communication skills is always desirable. The successful candidate will hold a Master’s degree in Interior Architecture or associated field with a strong track record of practice-led research in an area appropriate to Interior Architecture. You should possess a PGCHE or equivalent, and/or fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (HEA), or be willing to work towards that qualification. You must be able to demonstrate up-to-date working knowledge of current practices and research within the field and you will have a passion for, and experience of, developing innovative and inclusive pedagogy. We are looking to hear from candidates who have the following skills/experience: Interior Architecture / Interior Design experience working within a practice or having run their own projects. Experience of teaching within and HE environment A demonstrable commitment to scholarship, research and/or innovation.
