Job Description:
We are recruiting for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor (AQS) or Quantity Surveyor (QS) to join us here at Octavius, a leading civil engineering organisation delivering safe, sustainable, and efficient transport solutions across the UK.
You will be joining our Regional Civil Engineering (RCE) team, a locally focused, self-delivery team specialised in highways and public realm new build, maintenance, and vehicle restraint systems (VRS).
What will you be working on?
* You'll work on a £2.1 million project on Eastbourne High Street in collaboration with Balfour Beatty.
* This one-year NEC contract includes site clearance, earthworks, ducting, road pavements, kerbs, footways, paving, traffic signs and signals, surfacing, landscaping, and ecological work.
* You will be visible on-site 3-4 days per week, closely monitoring the project's cost performance and contract administration to ensure successful delivery.
Who will you work with?
A team of highly motivated, dedicated professionals delivering projects across a variety of frameworks with clients such as Balfour Beatty.
You'll collaborate with the Senior Quantity Surveyor, who will visit you weekly to guide and support you.

What are we looking for?
* Experience in a Quantity Surveying role, supporting senior QS professionals.
* General knowledge of monitoring cost performance of projects and contract administration.
* Evidence of working in a team and building effective relationships with customers and stakeholders.
* Experience in a civil engineering / highways maintenance environment, self-delivery is an advantage.
* NEC experience is a must.
