We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic, and highly motivated individual at Band 5 to join our team.
You will be required to provide assessment, treatment, and interventions for our high-risk caseload within Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust, working with a range of clinics, hospitals, health centres, and homes across the Torbay and South Devon area. As a Podiatrist, you will be responsible for the management and treatment of a caseload of patients, providing a comprehensive assessment of podiatric need, relevant health education, planned podiatric care packages, and referrals to other health care professionals as required.
You will be:
1. Committed to and undertake CPD, evidenced-based practice, and clinical rotation.
2. Providing high standards of treatment and professionalism, continuing to develop a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care.
Due to the role requirements, you must have the ability to travel around the Torbay and South Devon locality to undertake home visits.
You will have clinical responsibility for delivering high-quality care to a caseload across the Torbay and South Devon area and will work closely with other community healthcare workers and provider agencies within a variety of care settings, including:
1. Community clinics,
2. Domiciliary work,
3. Care homes,
4. Contributing to the development of the podiatry team.

The podiatry department consists of 45 clinical staff comprising of Head of Service, Team Leads, Specialist Podiatrists, Podiatrists, Assistant Practitioners, and Clinical Support Staff. We also have 10 administrative staff.

You will ensure effective communication with patients, relatives, and carers concerning assessment outcomes, treatment options, and prognosis, where there may be barriers to understanding due to learning difficulties, illness, and high anxiety.
You will delegate effectively and provide care plans for support staff such as Clinical Support Workers, Assistant Practitioners, and students to follow.
You must maintain registration with the Health and Care Professional Council (HCPC) and hold a degree/diploma in Podiatry and a local analgesia administration certificate.
You will follow departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines but have the discretion to make your own clinical diagnoses and decisions within professional boundaries.
You will attend all mandatory training sessions as required by the Trust and maintain accurate clinical records of all patient consultations and related work carried out at each clinical session in accordance with professional standards and Trust policy.
