Job Overview
Daisy Ward is a 21 bedded ward providing care for both elective and acute surgical admissions, and Procedure Unit is a 16 bedded Day Surgery unit. We are seeking an enthusiastic, hard-working, flexible individual to assist us in providing the best service at all times. Applicants will need excellent communication skills and experience of dealing with the general public and will need to have good IT skills. The main duties will include answering the telephone, communicating with the nursing team, booking appointments and updating the patient system. Previous experience in a hospital environment would be an advantage. You will need to be a team player and be able to work unsupervised. You will need to have good communication skills, be highly organised and able to work under pressure.
This is a job share role. You must be flexible to provide cover when the other ward clerk is on annual leave.
Main Duties of the Job
* Administration and Process Control: Ensure smooth application and control of all administration, clerical, and computer processes.
* Effective Communication: Provide effective communication to both patients and staff to enhance patient care.
* Information Management: Record, restore, and supply information using a paper-based filing system (alphabetical or numerical).
* Document Preparation: Prepare, print, save, and store documents and letters using a computerised system.
* Accurate Record-Keeping: Accurately record patient attendances on the hospitals computer system PAS, including inpatients, day cases, and ward attenders.
