Torbay Pharma are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Technician Apprentice to join our site in Paignton. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied, hands-on role, has a proactive approach to work and is keen to pursue a career in Engineering. Previous experience within engineering or similar would be advantageous but not essential.
About the Role
As a Maintenance Technician Apprentice, you will be part of a team who are responsible for ensuring that production processes and related equipment are running reliably and effectively to ensure that critical pharmaceutical products are manufactured on time and to quality.
You will receive training and support on maintenance, inspection and in-depth fault finding of our complex machinery together with training on the wider responsibilities of the Engineering team.
What you can expect in a Maintenance Technician Apprentice role at TP:
* Organise and perform planned and reactive maintenance and complete maintenance records (manually and electronically).
* Follow Work Instructions (WI) and complete maintenance forms.
* Work collaboratively with all personnel within the Team.
* Maintain clear and timely communication with all departments.
* Assist operators to develop fault recognition and diagnosis.
* Liaise with contractors, equipment manufacturers and service providers.
* Monitor building management and process control systems.
* Adhere to quality and continuing Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) policies, rules, and guidelines.
* Adopt safe working practices and adhere to Health and Safety (H&S) regulations.
What are we looking for:
* Demonstrable experience in a hands-on practical role either through education or employment.
* Experience of manufacturing equipment and systems would be beneficial but not essential
* Preparedness to undertake specialist training.
* Computer literate (standard Microsoft Office).
* Effective communicator.
* Able to work in uncomfortable areas wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for extended periods.
* Able to analyse and resolve problems.
What we need from you (must have skills):
* Educated to GCSE level 4 (grade C) and above in Maths and English
* Team Player.
* Self-motivated.
