About Robin AI
Robin AI is on a mission to rebuild the legal industry — starting with making contracts simple for everyone. We are a pioneer in Legal AI, built on proprietary models, licensed data, and deep partnerships with Anthropic and AWS. Since 2019, we’ve expanded our footprint to 3 continents and have been supporting many of the world’s most successful businesses, including GE, Pfizer, KPMG, and UBS.
About this role
This role is within the Legal and Product Team at Robin and will involve working directly with commercial teams at fast-growing corporates, global insurance companies, and private capital funds as they buy and sell services of all types. You will have an important role in the development of Robin’s legal technology products and will work closely with Robin’s engineering and commercial teams to onboard new clients to those products.
As an experienced legal professional, you will be responsible for reviewing and negotiating commercial documents such as vendor agreements (including master services agreements, statements of work, SaaS agreements, and more), data processing addenda, confidentiality agreements, and engagement letters. You will also have the opportunity to help us hire and develop fantastic new junior legal talent in the team. In addition, Robin offers great opportunities for personal career development in various areas alongside traditional legal work, including client onboarding and management, product development, and ongoing customer success.
This role will suit an experienced legal professional (whether a qualified solicitor or paralegal) considering an in-house position within a commercial legal team. At Robin, we are proud to have high-caliber clients, and our core commercial work covers many of the same areas and document types that they handle internally – but we work in a much more modern, creative, and flexible way!
What you'll do
* Review and negotiate contracts such as vendor agreements, data processing addenda, confidentiality agreements, and engagement letters, using a combination of Robin’s AI technology and your own legal experience.
* Help establish and agree contract playbooks (i.e., review guidelines) with current and new clients.
* Review the work of junior team members and assist with their professional development and ongoing training.
* Test Robin’s technology products and provide feedback on issues, bugs, and areas for improvement to our engineering and machine learning teams.
* Get involved in exciting business-related projects, including improving the operating model for our managed services team.
Qualifications
You will have at least 3+ years of experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating the core commercial documents regularly encountered by our clients. You will have previously worked with commercial legal teams (and perhaps procurement teams), whether in-house, at a service provider, or at a law firm, and will understand the typical process for negotiating supplier agreements.
You will enjoy taking the initiative and seeking answers to interesting practical and legal issues. You will be both technical and commercial in the practice of law and outside of it. You will be interested in developing your client management skills at a faster pace than might be possible elsewhere, and ideally, you’ll be looking forward to taking ownership of some of our client relationships in due course. You will be motivated by working in a fast-paced, diverse, and intellectually challenging environment where collaboration between lawyers and non-lawyers is essential to achieving results.
