We are currently looking for a Senior Scientist with In vitro Pharmacology experience who is highly motivated to join the Screening Sciences Team of the In Vitro Pharmacology Neurosciences department, based in Braine-l’Alleud, Belgium.
About the role
As part of our continuous evolution, we are building cross-disciplinary small molecules, biologics, and gene therapy platforms to address neurological diseases. The Screening Sciences Team is involved in research activities ranging from hit identification to drug candidate selection and characterization.
Who you’ll work with
You will work with the Screening Sciences Team, and other teams of in vitro pharmacology department and the other functions of Patient Solutions.
What you’ll do
* Apply expertise in in vitro pharmacology to develop and run relevant in vitro assays to support our small molecule, antibodies, and gene therapy research projects.
* Ensure high quality experimentation, data analysis, and data management.
* Represent our department in research project teams.
* Participate actively in the development of the screening platform for continuous optimal support to research programs.
* Be an active member of the screening sciences team to ensure compliance and safety.
Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience, and skills:
* A PhD degree in pharmacology or a closely related discipline with a strong background in receptor, enzyme, transporter pharmacology.
* A deep knowledge in the development of radioactive, fluorescence, luminescence, FRET, BRET, and label-free assays.
* Experience in quantitative data analysis using Prism software or equivalent and applying drug-receptor interaction modeling.
* Proven experience with using lab automation and miniaturizing HTS assay in 1536 well plate format is a plus.
* Willingness to learn and propose novel techniques and methodologies.
* Motivation and ability to work productively in a fast-paced environment that requires a high level of communication, organization, and collaboration.
* Fluency in English.
