JOB DESCRIPTION Primary objectives for the Fitness Instructor will be: To ensure the safety and enjoyment of everybody using the health and fitness facilities. To promote excellence of customer service and motivate people to enjoy exercise through good communications and selling skills. To take responsibility for all aspects of the daily operation of the health and fitness facilities. To drive the Fitness brand and specifically to adhere to all operational and sales procedures. Carry out retention and new member calls To carry out reception and front of house duties To create a favourable first impression of the Leisure Centre To have a good range of knowledge regarding the Leisure Centre The Fitness Instructor will focus day to day on the following tasks: To work on a shift rota system to undertake the daily operations of the facilities. To undertake Inductions, Fitness Assessments and Personal Programmes in accordance with the expressions brand. To be aware of all Health and Safety issues within the Centre, and specifically the fitness and health facility, and to constantly implement and assess procedures, drawing attention to unsafe practices. To guide, care for and assist all fitness users especially in areas of motivation, well-being, nutrition, and fitness testing. To work as part of a team to achieve income and sales targets for the fitness and health facility by completing new member and retention calls. To take responsibility for ensuring the health and fitness facilities are clean, tidy and well presented at all times. To undertake maintenance work as required. To make sure all equipment and facilities are safe and secure when not in use. To undertake any reasonable request to assist with the daily operations of the Centre, as well as the reception and front of house THE CANDIDATE Qualifications Training will be provided to help you achieve the required Level 2 Fitness Instructor qualification for this role, with future support to help you achieve the Level 3 Personal Training qualification. As the successful candidate you must be flexible, reliable, and enjoy working as part of a team. You will ideally possess the REPS level 2 or equivalent qualification and be willing to work variable hours, including some evenings and weekends. Must be able to work from various locations as and when required. DBS The position of Fitness Instructor is classed as a regulated post and therefore requires a DBS Disclosure.
