(Y)Our Opportunity We are looking to recruit a Senior IT Technician to join our team in the Coast Region, based at Chichester High School. Working closely with the regional IT manager, you will have a key role as part of a new regional team to support our schools within the Coast Region. Travel between sites will be required, so a clean driving licence and your own car will be essential to this role. The successful candidate will take a senior role to manage and maintain the schools’ computer networks. You will also be working closely with the users of our network in order to identify potential issues and fix existing problems. As a Senior Technician you will be deployed to solve higher level issues within the school and/or region. You will also be involved in project planning and oversight of key changes as discussed with the Regional Manager. The Senior IT Technician will lead, drive and continue the great progress already made within this area of the trust, the key responsibilities include: Following the policies for compliance with the organisation obligations (including legislation, regulatory, contractual and agreed standards/policies). Help feedback to the IT Manager and wider team in any areas relating to IT Strategy. Implementation of IT security improvements in line with Trust standards, best practice and data protection laws. Ensure that the Trust’s IT policies, procedures and protocols are adhered to and are consistent across all sites within their region. Monitor service desk for IT issues, by reviewing incoming tickets, and monitor progress. Assist the IT Manager in Project managing changes within their sites and liaise with external contractors to ensure successful delivery. Provide technical advice and guidance to curriculum leaders and educators within the academies; supporting them to deliver an outstanding educational environment in the classroom, using the best technology options appropriately. Be aware of limitations in T&L knowledge and know when to signpost to other TKAT teams The ideal Senior IT Technician will be someone who is: High professional and personal standards in both work and conduct. Ability to make sound judgments and decisions. Confident in dealing with all levels of stakeholders. Strong personal drive and willingness to get things done. Effective written and oral communication skills. Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as a team member, but also having self-motivation when working independently.
