Job Description
8. Are curious about food, always willing to try new combinations and flavours.
9. Assist in the preparation of the dishes in a timely fashion and agreed standards.
10. Ensure the availability of mise-en-place as required.
11. Observe excellent food hygiene practice through the entire food chain from storage through to preparation and service.
12. Perform other kitchen duties as assigned.
13. Contributes to guest satisfaction by:
14. Preparing "hot" and/or "cold" dishes in line with the supervisor's instructions
15. Helping deliver the dishes
16. Respecting the food health and safety standards and procedures
17. Participating in managing raw materials effectively
18. Creates and presents the dishes in line with cooking instructions and the supervisor's instructions
19. Adapts work to fluctuations in volume of guests, to special events and particular guests
20. Helps receive deliveries and tidies food items according to storage guidelines
21. Is responsible for the high standard of the dishes prepared
22. Helps keep equipment used in good condition
23. Cleans and tidies the workplace following the supervisor's instructions
24. Follows the cooking instructions and preparation processes to the letter
25. Avoids wasting food items
26. Helps with inventories
27. Helps manage stocks of equipment by avoiding breakages
Qualifications
28. Vocational certificate or diploma in professional cuisine
29. Experience that demonstrates well established technical know-how
30. Fluent in the national language and English
