Job Role: Steel Fixer
Location: Worksop
Pay: £18-£19 PAYE (Day shift)

Description:
Barker Ross are looking for Steel Fixers to work in Worksop, as a steel fixer your main duty will be fixing cages within a Precast facility. You will need to be able to follow and read drawings. You will play a crucial role in shaping the frameworks for buildings and infrastructure
Responsibilities:
* Measure, cut, bend, and shape steel bars using hand and power tools.
* Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of steel bars.
* Set up and prepare construction sites by removing debris and ensuring safety precautions are followed.
* Install steel bars into concrete forms, ensuring proper alignment and spacing.
* Secure steel bars with clamps, wire, or welds, and check for accuracy and stability.
* Use mechanical and manual tools to position steel bars and concrete in place.
* Inspect and repair faulty reinforcement to maintain structural integrity.
* Collaborate with construction team members and follow project schedules to meet deadlines.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Steel Fixer or in a similar role
* Must drive/have reliable transport to get to the location.
* In-depth knowledge of steel fabrication and reinforcing techniques
* Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings.
* Strong physical stamina.
* Ability to use hand and power tools effectively and safely.
* Detail-oriented with exceptional accuracy in measuring and cutting steel bars.
* Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
