Post holder is to carry out day to day electrical repairs, planned maintenance and improvements to the Trusts buildings in a manner that conforms to statutory regulations and codes of practice, while ensuring smooth running of the Trust. The post holder will also be responsible for installation of electrical new work and small projects. The post holder will be part of a multi-skilled, multi-discipline maintenance team. Participation in the emergency on call will be required by contractual obligation to ensure safe systems and service continuity. Cross site working will also be required by contractual obligation. You should have good diagnostic and fault finding skills, and be able to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals etc. You should have a good understanding of the work of all other trades which is essential to maintain the flexibility of the department. You may be asked to perform other tasks as and when required by management. You must be capable of reading and understanding electrical installation plans and drawings. You must be willing to attend courses as and when required. You must be willing to partake in an on-call system You must be able to work effectively and efficiently to the highest standards. This will entail participating in the Labour Management System. Your involvement in this will be to read and understand work order cards filling in relevant details on completion of the work and maintaining a good performance. This can be achieved by carrying out the work detailed on the work order card (PDA) within the time given.
