I’m currently conducting a confidential search for a Director of Finance to join a dynamic and growing organization in Bristol, United Kingdom. This position will report directly to the CFO and work closely with the Corporate Controller, Revenue Leaders, and Operations Leadership to drive financial strategy and business growth. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader who can manage financial operations, provide valuable business insights, and support cash flow generation and profitable growth across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all financial activities of the UK organization, including current and future locations.
2. Lead annual budgeting and reforecasting processes across the business.
3. Manage cash flow in partnership with corporate accounting.
4. Prepare and analyze monthly and annual financial statements.
5. Serve as the main contact for UK audit activities and manage relationships with external tax support.
6. Establish and monitor KPIs/metrics to hold departments accountable.
7. Provide actionable insights on financial results, variances, trends, and strategic decisions.
8. Work cross-functionally to anticipate business needs and drive solutions.
9. Support growth decisions by analyzing ROI and capacity requirements for investments.
10. Partner with IT to optimize systems and processes, including potential ERP migrations.
11. Mentor and lead a team, providing constructive feedback to enhance their capabilities.
12. Play a key role in the integration of any future acquisitions.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics (MBA preferred).
2. Advanced accounting certification (e.g., Chartered Accountant, ACCA, ACMA).
3. 5+ years of senior finance experience, ideally in CPG, distribution, or manufacturing.
4. Strong proficiency in financial statement analysis, forecasting, and business analysis.
5. Ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership and collaborate across teams.
6. Experience with SQL, BI tools, data transformation, and relational data models.
7. NetSuite and/or OrderWise experience is a plus.
8. Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
Travel Requirement:
1. Up to 25% travel, primarily to various sites within the UK. Travel will be necessary to understand business operations and build key relationships.
