The Marram Clinic is a small multi-disciplinary team, offering a range of services and clinics providing holistic treatment and care for people living with HIV. Our clinic is based in the Hub at RCHT, with less frequent peripheral clinics in Bodmin and Penzance. In addition, we offer and are developing a community outreach service. The post holder will support staff in providing excellent patient care in the HIV service, working closely with the nursing team and associated multidisciplinary team staff members and clinicians.
You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and work closely with all members of the multi-disciplinary team, meet the person specification and be able to perform under pressure.
Applicants must have successfully achieved the Foundation Degree in Healthcare Practice and must have experience in a healthcare environment.
To work under the supervision of the registered nursing, midwifery teams and/or clinical leads to:
Participate in the delivery of patient care, in clinics and on home visits.
Contribute towards department organisation.
Give support to registered nurses and midwives in the provision of a safe and caring environment.
The Band 4 Assistant Practitioner demonstrates a level of skill and understanding which enables them to undertake specific tasks delegated by the nurse in charge and follow relevant procedures, guidelines and policies. They will undertake routine and identified tasks for which they have been trained and assessed as competent.
It is expected that Assistant Practitioners will be able to carry out all of the core competencies outlined in the Assistant Practitioners Governance Framework, but their duties and competencies will vary according to speciality agreed extended competencies. Similar or related duties may be undertaken in support of the ward environment, which are not listed.
