Applications are invited from suitably-experienced Senior Neonatal Nurses to join the small, but vital 3-cot Unit at the major Health facility on the beautiful Island of Guernsey, in the Channel Islands. The Neonatal Unit is adjacent to the 9-bedded general Paediatric Ward and manages infants from 32/40. Given the unique island nature of Guernsey there is at times a requirement to stablise and transfer smaller infants off-island, approx once per month on average with in-utero transfers slightly more frequently. Transfers are to the NHS and to various units depending on availability. Equally, on occasion there may be no infants in the Unit when the time is utilised with audits, and undertaking and deliveringtraining. Please note; Guernsey has adopted the AfC banding system, but have applied their own salary scale. The Guernsey Band 6 salary range is £43,954 to £59,343 plus an annual bonus of £1,605 and higher unsocial hours enhancements; 36% evening/Saturday and 72% Sunday/BH. Additionally there is an additional £3,000 bonus at completion of two, then four years service. Annual leave starts at 36 days up to 42 days with full credit for NHS service for annual leave and sick leave. The island of Guernsey is in the Channel Islands and has a population of 65,000. Person requirements: Registered Nurse, or Midwife with full registration with the NMC. Completion of Mentorship qualification Completion of a recognised post-graduate NICU qualification (negotiable if more than five years Neonatal experience) At least two yearscurrent or recent Neonatal experience, with at least one year UK-based.
