Job Description:
We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Temporary Chef to join our team for a 3-month contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes and ensuring a smooth and efficient kitchen operation.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook meals according to menu specifications and recipes
Ensure the quality and presentation of all dishes meet the company's standards
Collaborate with the kitchen team to plan and execute menus, taking into consideration dietary restrictions and special requests
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, following all health and safety regulations
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies when needed
Train and supervise junior kitchen staff, ensuring they adhere to food safety and sanitation standards
Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including food handling and storage guidelines
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Chef, preferably in a high-volume restaurant or hotel setting
Culinary degree or equivalent experience
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment
Excellent time management and organisational skills
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations
Strong communication and leadership skills
Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds
