Within the AS department in Fordham, Cambridgeshire, we use LC, GC, ICP, and MS techniques for the trace analysis of small and large molecule impurities in drug formulations to ensure quality and safety for patients. You will increase your knowledge of a regulated laboratory and its techniques, from validation and sample analysis to investigations and reporting.
Job Purpose
The placement position in Fordham, Cambridgeshire, is mainly focused on the analysis of propellant gas for use in inhalers. After general training in all things AS and GMP, you will learn how to perform a wide range of tests, including wet chemistry, GC, FTIR, and Karl Fischer. In addition, you will support activities across the department, having an opportunity to work with techniques such as ICP-MS and LC-MS/MS. You will be trained to work independently and involve yourself in all parts of the work, both in the lab and out of it (for instance, reporting, customer interaction, and quality processes, such as laboratory investigations). This placement will give you a wide range of experiences that will be invaluable for your future career.
Minimum Requirements
* Studying towards a Degree in Chemistry, Material Science, or a related subject
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Computer literate
* Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team
* Conscientious and meticulous in laboratory work
* Excellent time management skills and ability to work to tight deadlines
* Highly motivated
