Electrical Estimator Location: Maidenhead Office Reports To: Preconstruction Manager The Electrical Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders for electrical projects. The successful candidate will collaborate with project managers, clients, and suppliers to ensure all cost estimates align with high standards and financial objectives. Key Responsibilities • Tender Preparation • Analyse tender documents, specifications, and drawings to develop precise cost estimates. • Prepare detailed cost breakdowns for labour, materials, and equipment. • Identify potential risks and opportunities within the tender process. • Supplier and Subcontractor Management • Source and obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors. • Ensure pricing is competitive and aligns with project requirements. • Maintain relationships with key suppliers to secure favourable terms. • Cost Analysis and Budgeting • Monitor material base costs in real-time to keep estimates up-to-date. • Collaborate with the project team to ensure budgets are realistic and achievable. • Support post-tender negotiations and value engineering as required. • Collaboration and Reporting • Work closely with project managers to ensure a smooth handover of tender information. • Provide regular updates and reports on tender progress and outcomes. • Contribute to the continuous improvement of estimation processes and tools. Qualifications and Experience • Proven experience in electrical estimation within commercial or industrial sectors. • Strong understanding of electrical systems, materials, and industry standards. • Proficiency in electrical estimating software (experience with Cypher is a plus). • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills. • Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Desirable: • Experience working on projects in London or similar urban environments. • Knowledge of real-time material cost tracking and budgeting systems. • Relevant electrical qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
