A leading Civil Engineering, Tier 1, Main Contractor are actively seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a permanent position near Peterborough for a large Infrastructure project.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to gain experience working on a prestigious project supporting the project leaders in generating a high standard of service delivery, achieving successful outcomes, and capturing and sharing knowledge across the project.

* The client is a Main Contractor primarily within construction and large civil engineering projects;
* Working on some of the largest Civil Engineering projects in the UK;

What you’ll be doing:
* Ensure the commercial compliance of current contracts, protecting the position of the company
* Will report to the Commercial Manager about the subcontract status
* Assist senior staff in pricing variations – this will not just be mechanical and electrical scope
* Cost control
* Support the Commercial and Contract Managers with monthly project cost reports and progress reports
* Provide provision, when required to the rest of the team on managing other subcontract lifecycles, participating in procurement, tendering, contract administration, variations and work packages management
* Measurement of quantities
* Preparation of monthly financial statement of anticipated Final Account detailing status of variations (budget, submitted, agreed), in conjunction with project management
* Assist with monthly work in progress reports in conjunction with project manager
* Managing delegated resources (e.g., budgets, equipment, and contracts) as appropriate, to ensure value for money
* Being fully aware of and actively complying with company policies and procedures relevant to your own responsibilities and to corporate policies and procedures including equality, sustainability and the environment, health and safety and data protection
What you’ll need to be successful:
* The ideal candidate will be degree-qualified.
* Min 6 years Experience in heavy civil engineering projects.
* Must have previous NEC contract experience.
* NEC Change Management Experience
* Confident and comfortable working on projects exceeding £10m+ in value.
