London Museum is running the most exciting cultural project in London for a generation: the creation of an entirely new museum in Smithfield, due to open its doors in 2026. With major support already secured from the City of London and the Mayor of London, £100m will come from private and philanthropic funds raised through a major fundraising campaign. We have already secured £47m of this goal.
As Senior Development Manager, you will play a vital role in the success of the Museum's ambitious plans to raise the remaining £53m, as well as secure the funding needed to enhance our Docklands site and significantly grow our BAU income. You will have a track record of securing gifts or grants of six figures or more and will manage, develop, and grow a portfolio of high-level prospects, ensuring we have a clear cultivation and communication plan in place for each. You will be an outstanding communicator and relationship-builder, able to influence and inspire new potential donors and demonstrate how their support will make a real difference to Londoners and the wider world. We welcome applicants who reflect London’s diverse communities and who have a passion for the cultural sector and the work of the museum.
To apply, please click ‘apply’ where you will be directed to our online recruitment system. Applications are by CV and cover letter; please detail in your cover letter how you meet our essential criteria for the role (found on the Job Description). The closing date for applications is Sunday 2 February 2025. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an interview on Thursday 13 February 2025.
London Museum is committed to equal opportunities and diversity. We particularly welcome applications from disabled, Black, Asian, and ethnically diverse candidates, who are currently under-represented in our organisation.
