Role
We are an international enterprise development organisation that delivers enterprising solutions to global challenges. We operate globally and have offices in six countries: Ghana, Malawi, Rwanda, Uganda, the UK, and Zambia.
We are seeking a detailed and proactive Finance Officer to work with us to provide comprehensive bookkeeping services for new and developing purpose-led enterprises.
1. Ensure accurate recording of orders and invoices, and facilitate timely payments.
2. Manage banking services and generate reports to prevent bank fraud.
3. Protect operational assets, including cash handling, through robust internal controls and auditing.
4. Generate timely income invoices and ensure prompt payment follow-up.
5. Maintain accurate accounting records in Xero, supported by referenced digital documentation.
6. Ensure proper authorisation and payment of expenses.
7. Manage payroll systems for accurate and timely staff payments.
8. Prepare monthly budget and forecasting reports.
9. Generate financial reports as needed.
10. Assist with ad-hoc finance queries.
Skills, Experience, and Personal Qualities
1. University degree or equivalent experience.
2. Strong numeracy skills (Higher Mathematics/GCSE Mathematics or equivalent).
3. 5+ years of experience in an office environment.
4. Excellent communication skills.
5. High proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
6. Experience with Xero accounting software or similar platforms.
7. Working towards a bookkeeping or accounting qualification.
