Role Overview
Arco Academy is seeking a strong, highly organised, and experienced School Administrator to support the school’s daily operations and uphold our commitment to educational excellence. This is a key role requiring a proactive and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a high-demand, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be an efficient problem solver, a quick learner, and able to work well under pressure.
As a School Administrator, you will play a crucial role in managing school systems, supporting staff and students, and ensuring the smooth running of the school. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and growing team where your contributions will make a real impact.
We are looking for a School Administrator to join our school and start as soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the day-to-day administration of the school office, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
* Manage and maintain school records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with DfE regulations.
* Provide administrative support to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), teachers, and other school staff.
* Manage the school’s information management system (Bromcom), ensuring data is up to date and accurate.
* Handle admissions, attendance records, and student files in line with safeguarding and GDPR guidelines.
* Communicate effectively with parents, staff, students, and external stakeholders, fostering positive relationships.
* Support the organisation of school events, trips, and extracurricular activities.
* Assist in HR administration, including recruitment, staff absence monitoring, and maintaining personnel records.
* Manage financial administration, including processing invoices, ordering supplies, and budget tracking.
* Maintain a well-organised office environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Act as the first point of contact for visitors, ensuring a professional and welcoming reception service.
Candidate Requirements
Essential Skills and Experience:
* A good standard of education to at least GCSE Grade C level or equivalent in English and Mathematics.
* At least two years of experience in a school-based office role.
* Proficiency in Bromcom or a similar school management information system.
* Strong ICT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and databases).
* Excellent numeracy and literacy skills.
* Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
* Highly organised with excellent time management and multitasking skills.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
* Proactive, adaptable, and willing to take on new challenges.
* A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and equal opportunities.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
* Educated to degree level.
* Current First Aid certificate.
* Knowledge of Keeping Children Safe in Education, Safeguarding, and GDPR compliance.
* Familiarity with InVentry visitor management systems.
* Experience in HR administration and school finance.
* Hold an up-to-date, fully enhanced DBS (must be obtained before the role commences).
