We are looking to welcome a clinical specialist SLT to work within community adult services, providing dysphagia and communication assessment and treatment for both inpatients and outpatients in a range of settings.
This includes our network of community hospitals, outpatient clinics, nursing and patient homes.
The successful candidate will demonstrate commitment and passion to delivering quality patient care to those in the community, working to prevent acute hospital admission and maximise participation and quality of life for our patients.
As a team working across a very rural area there is the opportunity to work with patients who have a wide range of conditions, including progressive neurological conditions, stroke, dementia, Head and Neck cancer etc, but also the opportunity to develop and further skills in specialist areas of your interest.
Experience in providing specialist interventions LSVT is desirable. We offer a range of opportunities to develop and extend your existing skills, including in instrumental assessment., The successful candidate will have experience of working within multi professional teams, supporting patients with complex communication and swallowing disorders.
Experience of providing leadership in advance care planning, and eating and drinking at risk discussions is desirable.
You will be joining a small team of highly motivated and committed SLTs and SLTAs working in one of the most beautiful areas of the UK, with a leadership team which has been nationally recognised for its compassionate leadership.
There will be opportunities to extend and develop your own leadership and mentoring skills. We have established frameworks in place for the provision of professional and managerial supervision and mentoring.
The department is committed to supporting professional development and there are regular clinical team meetings to facilitate this.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and / or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
