Applications are invited for 1 Full time (10PA) Consultant post in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in Sheffield Community CAMHS. This is a replacement post based within Sheffield Community CAMHS. Part time applicants are welcomed and job share's will be considered. Candidates keen to pursue special interest sessions are welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
You will be professionally responsible to the Medical Director and clinically responsible and accountable to the Clinical Director. You will also be accountable to the Service Lead for the delivery of the team targets. You will be expected to work collaboratively with the Service Manager who has general responsibility for the functioning of the teams.
You will be clinically responsible for the children and young people referred to you, and responsible for providing comprehensive and timely psychiatric assessment and treatment.
On call duties
The consultants will share a 1:8 on call rota with other consultants prorate category A, with remuneration of 5% as a second on call provision. 1st on call is delivered by a junior doctor rota of 1:8 category. This is a 24 hour non-resident, 1 in 7 rota. The first on call is covered by core trainees and higher trainees from the local training scheme. The rota covers the mental health in-patient lodges at The Becton Centre and the acute site.
This is a notional timetable, the details of which will be dependent on the needs in the team and an agreed job plan. Annual Job Planning is undertaken by the Clinical Director with the Associate Director.

Person Specification
Qualifications/Training & Professional Qualifications
* MBChB or equivalent
General Professional Training
* Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent or within 6 months of gaining CCT in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
* Section 12(2) Approval
Knowledge/Previous Experience Specialty Clinical Expertise
* Appropriate training and experience in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
Previous Training Management/Audit
* Basic experience in management e.g. trainee rotas
* Understanding of NHS management responsibilities of consultants
Academic Achievements Research/Publications
* Has interest in research and undertaken clinical projects
* Shown evidence of interest in relevant specialist research
* Able to communicate well with children, parents and staff
* Ability to work as a team with professional colleagues from medical and other disciplines
* Ability to teach, teaching qualifications

Salary: £105,504 to £139,882 a year per annum pro rata
