Overview
We are seeking an Engineering Apprentice to join our dynamic team to undertake a structured training program of academic study alongside working with the Company’s skilled engineers in order to gain a sound knowledge of all electrical and mechanical works within the company’s produce production and packing business.
Key Responsibilities:
* To complete the required academic and practical training requirements of the apprenticeship.
* To gain knowledge and understanding of other aspects of the Company’s operations by participating in company assigned training/projects as and when required.
* Gain hands-on operational experience by assisting and shadowing the Engineering Team in the following duties:
* Carry out meter readings of both electric and water meters, both weekly and monthly and record findings.
* Complete weekly service checks of the company pool car, compactors, compressors, and generators and record and report findings.
* Check fire extinguishers quarterly.
* Carry out preventative maintenance and routine scheduled servicing of equipment as detailed by the Engineering Manager.
* Deal with machine breakdowns and effect repairs to ensure minimum downtime.
* Troubleshoot and fault-find any defects on machines and carry out repairs as necessary.
* Complete any fabrication works as required.
* Stock management and upkeep.
* General labouring and housekeeping duties.
* Ensure work is carried out to the highest standard.
* Ensure you wear the correct PPE at all times.
* This role includes periods of time away for study at a college.
