Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated PPM Engineer & Painter/ Decorator to join our team at Montcalm East. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring that the hotel’s interior and exterior remain in pristine condition through high-quality painting and decoration services. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional with a keen eye for detail and experience in painting and decorating, particularly in the hospitality industry. Key Responsibilities · Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, and other in-room items (e.g., lamps, extension cords, vacuums). · Perform surface preparation, minor drywall and wood trim repairs, and light fixture replacement. · Maintain a clean and organized work area after completing tasks, adhering to safety standards. · Display knowledge and learnings in air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and other maintenance-related fields. · Implement company statutory and legal requirements including fire, health and safety, hygiene, electricity at work, and all local by-laws · Follow C.O.S.H.H regulations, in particular the storage of hazardous substances · Carry Out Routine Inspections/maintenance of Property assets when required to the appropriate standard and ensure that timetables in place are met. The Shift Engineer will be expected to maintain heating, ventilation, air conditioning equipment and ensure that they are in an optimal operating condition by performing routine maintenance and repairs as directed upon request. · Prepare and paint interior and exterior surfaces, including walls, doors, windows, and furniture. · Carry out decorative work, such as wallpapering, texturing, and surface treatments. · Maintain and repair existing painted and decorated surfaces. · Ensure all work meets the highest standards of quality and safety. · Work closely with the property maintenance team to ensure timely completion of projects. · Follow safety protocols and maintain cleanliness during work. Collaborate with hotel management to minimize disruption to guests during maintenance. Requirements and skills Proven experience as a Painter/Decorator & PPM Engineer, preferably in a hotel or similar commercial property setting. Valid qualification in painting and decorating (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds). Strong knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and safety standards. Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality finishes. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines. Strong communication skills and a professional demeanour. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Basic knowledge in areas such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems. Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a variety of guest room equipment and systems.
