Job summary Band 6 Myeloma Clinical Nurse Specialist An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Haematology team for a dedicated and passionate Myeloma Clinical Nurse Specialist. This position not only allows for professional growth and development but also an opportunity to make a significant impact on patient outcomes. The role offers an opportunity to provide high quality care to Myeloma patients. As a Myeloma CNS, you will work closely with the Haematology Multidisciplinary team, provide clinical advice, leadership and support ensuring the needs of the service are met by exercising and demonstrating clinical judgement and sound decision making skills. Main duties of the job Work collaboratively to influence and drive the development of the service. Hold own caseload of Myeloma patients. Manage the care pathway of Myeloma patients and their families from diagnosis, during treatment and end of life. Provide high quality clinical practice. Be proactive in clinical decision making, underpinned by theoretical and practical knowledge and be able to demonstrate improved patient care outcomes. Undertake holistic assessment of patients and carers needs. This will involve planning, implementing and evaluating the care delivery according to changing healthcare needs. Promoting and increasing the awareness of the service of myeloma within the Haematology department and the Trust and the community team including the primary care and palliative care services. Provides informal support and education to patients/ carers and all professional disciplines as part of the Myeloma CNS role. Utilise clinical skills in assessment and or formulating a plan of care.
