An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant in Emergency Medicine to join our friendly and enthusiastic Emergency Department team at UHDB, based at the Queens Hospital Burton site.
This post is Full Time but any candidate who wishes to work less than full time will be considered and supported, taking into account service needs.
As a result of the Covid pandemic the Emergency Department at QHB has adapted to delivery high quality care to our patients across a number of areas, Red (high risk) Adult ED, Green (low risk) Adult ED and an integrated Paediatric stream and Minor Injury zone.
The ED at QHB is a vibrant 24hr ED assessing and treating both Adults and Children.
The ED sits within the Acute Medicine Business Unit and therefore has extremely good relationships with Acute Medicine across the Acute Medical Unit and Short Stay, alongside Same Day Emergency Care.
Expectations of any successful candidate would be to;
• Maintain high clinical standards in the management of patients presenting to the Emergency Department
• Share with colleagues’ responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Emergency Department as well as service development & specialty interfacing.
• Teach, train and supervise junior staff and medical students.
• Actively participate in both departmental & Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance & audit
• Have responsibility for ensuring active participation in continuing medical education (CME) & revalidation
• Work to achieve personal & Trust objectives.
