Support the divisional management team with co-ordination of recruitment of new doctors and work under supervision to ensure rotas follow the European Working Time Directive.
The post holder is responsible for recording and monitoring medical staff sickness and leave, co-ordination of the medical rotas, identifying planned absences and ensuring temporary staffing solutions are sought, supporting the admin function associated with trainee doctor rotations.
Provide information and advice when dealing with enquiries either in person or by telephone from members of staff at all levels.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide a comprehensive rota management service to doctors within the Trust as part of the unscheduled care management team.
2. Liaise with outside medical staffing agencies to ensure adequately trained and experienced Doctors are available to fill vacancies and short term absence.
3. Record absence and monitor usage using Trust systems.
4. Escalate any issues that may result in conflict to the assistant directorate manager.
5. Ensure medical staff bank and locum staff are booked following policy, overseen by the Directorate/ Assistant Directorate manager.
6. Input regular reports of medical absence and validate information stored on monitoring systems.
7. Work with the medical staffing department and deanery to update all parties as to recruitment selection of junior doctors and arrangement of induction as appropriate.
