Volunteering with Victim Support in Essex
As a Volunteer in Essex, your role will include:
* Identifying fundraising opportunities, organising and attending events and meetings to raise our VS profile.
* Engaging with our local communities to inform them about crime and our work.
* Gaining experience in planning and organising events and delivering presentations.
* Working in partnerships with local Community Voluntary Services (CVS), universities and other local partnership organisations.
* Representing Victim Support at CVS events, university events, pride events and local fetes.
What we ask of you?
In order to join us as a Community Engagement Volunteer, you must:
* Be 18 years of age or over.
* Be able to volunteer for at least 2-4 hours per week, for at least 6 months.
* Complete a 3-day workbook.
* Undertake a DBS check where required.
* Be able to provide two satisfactory references.
* Have an active email address that you are comfortable using in order to engage with VS communications.
Expenses
* All Victim Support volunteers are entitled to out-of-pocket expenses incurred whilst volunteering, including travel and lunch.
