Within EP&S Hosting Tower, the DR and Backups Manager is responsible for managing the Disaster Recovery and backup/restore testing of systems, platforms and services. How you’ll help us make health happen: Develop/execute project plans and recovery objectives relating to DR and backups for IT systems: requirements, schedules, testing, being fully accountable for the outcomes and subsequent management of actions arising. Ensure testing of appropriate DR and backup solutions, failover and resiliency to ensure they are working and fit for purpose. Coordinate IT DR exercises and manage real recovery events. Accountable for and manage costs for such plans and objectives against risk and priority, whilst agreeing and engaging with key stakeholders in the business and IT management. Ensure continuous evaluation of the IT DR and Backup Program to identify opportunities for strategic improvement or mitigation of business interruption and other risks. Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role: A detailed understanding and practical knowledge with regards to the provision of DR and Backups. The ability to provide ‘Thought Leadership’ with regards to the provision of DR and Backups. A wide knowledge as to how the marketplace is developing DR and Backups. A comprehensive understanding of managing change within a large and complex environment (including distributed technologies). Familiarity with architectural design standards.
