About the Role:
We are requiring a Science Tutor to join us on an engagement basis to support with the delivery of Science sessions across the Academy. This role will be responsible for the organisation and delivery of the Science provision within the Hybrid Training Model.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
* Lead, manage, facilitate and co-ordinate the delivery of Science for schoolboys on the Hybrid Training Model.
* Ensure that tracking and assessment of schoolboys’ progress is up to date.
* Contribute to the writing of schemes of learning for Science.
* Contribute to the development of effective tracking systems to monitor student progress.
* Deal with any safeguarding issues that may arise by reporting them to the Head of Education and Welfare.
* Participate in any training courses for Academy staff and other Club staff as and when required, e.g. FA Safeguarding workshops and Equality seminars.
* Be the key point of contact and liaise with partner schools of schoolboys over any matters relating to the subject.
What are we looking for:
* Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) essential
* Degree level education or equivalent essential in the subject area
* Safeguarding Children Tutor Training is desirable
* Demonstrable experience of secondary education teaching
* Experience of working in a sporting environment
* Sound organisational skills, able to prioritise and manage own workload.
* Excellent communication skills

As part of the Club’s commitment to safeguarding, the successful applicant may be required to undergo a Disclosure Barring Service (“DBS”) check or an enhanced DBS check. The results of a DBS check will be considered on an individual basis, and the Club will act in a proportionate manner when deciding whether or not to proceed with the appointment.
An FA Enhanced DBS disclosure is required for all relevant new appointments to the Club. Individuals will be asked to declare any convictions, cautions or reprimands, warnings or bind-overs that may have been incurred. The Club reserves the right to carry out risk assessments where content has been disclosed on a DBS disclosure if it feels that it is relevant to the job requirements. Failure to satisfy the Club and the PL's safeguarding requirements may lead to the job offer being withdrawn or, if they have already started employment, summary termination of the employment.
