What you’ll be doing
* Analysing clients’ accounting and reporting requirements
* Planning data migrations, data remediations and/or data onboarding approaches for new and existing clients
* Mapping transactions to the target accounting system’s Chart of Accounts
* Performing data migrations/remediations/onboarding, using technology available within and/or approved by Gen II
* Designing, building and testing client/entity/investor level reports, in line with clients’ requirements and internal best-practice rules
* Designing, building and testing additional data checking and validation reports, to support internal teams with their daily operations
* Designing automation solutions and workflows, for better, faster and more efficient tasks processing
* Being a main point of contact for internal and external parties in all data migration matters
* Being a subject matter expert in data migrations, data remediations and business applications used by Gen II
The ideal background for this role:
* Trained/experienced fund accountant – 3-5 years preferred (there is no requirement to be qualified accountant, but huge advantage if holds or is studying towards an accounting qualification)
* Advanced Excel skills (VBA not required, but bonus points if known!)
* Experience with fund accounting software (Investran preferred, eFront or Yardi acceptable)
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Creative mind and logical thinking skills
* Experience with data migrations would be a huge advantage
* Experience with building bespoke reports and/or automation solutions would be a huge advantage
* Good interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to listen with understanding and then able to summarise requirements in easy-to-understand and easy-to-follow format
* Needs to have a passion for all-things-data and technology
* Needs to have a passion for continuous learning (growth mindset)
* Needs to have an interest in systems, business applications, low/no code applications and automation solutions
Role Location/Hybrid Schedule
This role is based in our Southampton office. Although the nature of most of the roles within Gen II cannot be classed as totally flexible, there is scope in some cases for a form of Agile Working. The different ways in which Agile Working can be undertaken is dependent on the demands and needs of the business, the office space available and the individual’s preferences and circumstances.
