An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, dynamic, and motivated Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) to provide strong and effective leadership to the adult SLT team in NHS Dumfries and Galloway.
This post offers the chance to lead the SLT team and Support Workers, while continuing to apply your clinical skills in your specialist field. As the Team Lead, you will monitor and evaluate performance, develop services, and foster a culture of support and empowerment within the team. You will demonstrate expert problem-solving and clinical decision-making skills within your specialty and have experience in providing advice, training, and supervision to others, contributing to positive learning experiences.
You will be based in the Therapies Department at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary, the AHP base for acute services managed by the Acute AHP manager. The adult SLT service is a region-wide service providing acute in-patient, out-patient, and community services to adults with acquired speech and language disorders, including those with Intellectual Disabilities. The service maintains close multi-professional links with specialists in Stroke, Neurology, ENT, Maxillo-Facial, Respiratory, Imaging, Intellectual Disability, Medical, and Palliative care.
