The Enterprise Coordinator sits at the heart of a local Network to help schools andcolleges improve their careers and enterprise programmes and to engage with the worldof work.Enterprise Coordinators will do this by recruiting local schools and colleges to join TheCareers & Enterprise Company's programme and will then match each school andcollege with an Enterprise Adviser.Enterprise Advisers are volunteers who have been drawn from local employers or theself-employed who will work with a school or college (matched 1:1) to support that schoolor college in developing an effective careers and enterprise strategy. These EnterpriseAdvisers will have been recruited by the LEP Executive.The Enterprise Coordinator will work with schools and colleges and their EnterpriseAdvisers to conduct an initial diagnostic of their careers and enterprise strategy and willsupport the Enterprise Adviser in further developing and optimising this strategy.The Enterprise Coordinator will help ensure that the best local careers and enterpriseprovision is made available to schools and colleges in their area by acting as a core linkto existing provision. The Enterprise Coordinator will also help stimulate more provisionwhere necessary by working closely with the Enterprise Advisers, local employers, andwith the central team at The Careers & Enterprise Company.The role will involve regular contact with senior people across a wide range of partnersincluding:
* Schools and colleges and employers/the self-employed
* Local, regional and national skills organisations and education/training providers
* Business representative organisations and third sector partners
* The Careers & Enterprise Company
Who will your manager be and what will you be responsible for?You will be:
* reporting to the Business Growth and Investment Services Manager who is
in turn responsible for your health and safety, training and development.
* expected to lead and/or contribute to a range of projects and build relations
with both internal and external partners in order achieve specified outcomes but will not have direct authority over those involved.
* A member of the Business Growth and Investment team within the
Economic Growth service.
* Build effective relationships with local schools and colleges. Understand
their needs to ensure the programme has impact and addresses those needs. Engage them in the programme.
* Working with a range of internal and external departments and partners
involved in delivering the economic growth agenda for Shropshire.
* Responsible for preparing responses in line with Shropshire Council's
corporate processes and national/regulatory/statutory processes (e.g. complaints, MP enquiries, Information Governance requests, customer enquiries, media enquiries, HR staff investigations etc..). These responses should be in line with the quality and timescale expectations set out within Shropshire Council's published procedures and/or case allocation emails and discussions.
* Responsible for completing within expected timescales all mandatory
corporate and role specific training. Training requirements will be detailed in your corporate induction and Personal Development Plan (PDP). Courses are accessed via the council Learning Management System via the Intranet.What will you be doing?Establishing and developing your Network- Establishing and growing the Network locally by engaging and supporting a caseload ofc.20 schools and colleges. Ensure all institutions are matched with an Enterprise Adviser(EA)- Building and maintaining effective relationships with senior leaders in local schools andcolleges within the caseload.Leading and coordinating relationships between the EA, the school/college and the widerNetwork with a focus on impact, successful transition and destination outcomes foryoung people.- Ensuring all schools and colleges are self-assessing their careers programme usingCEC digital tools, driving Gatsby Benchmark performance and that all young people arereceiving help from high quality careers education.- Acting as an ambassador for The Careers & Enterprise Company (CEC) includingraising the profile of the Network through communication and marketing channels toengage with key local stakeholders.- Sharing learning from CEC by delivering CPD sessions to education and businessaudiences., inclusion in the recruitment process. Implement measures for tracking the representationof local growth sectors within the EA community.- Supporting the Careers Hub Lead in successfully matching Enterprise Advisers toschools and colleges within the Network and provide on-going support to EAs in scoping,identifying, and addressing the needs of their matched school or college.- Contributing to Hub induction and on-going training / continuous professionaldevelopment of Enterprise Advisers.- Ensuring the Hub tracks and completes all DBS checks for EAs prior to them workingwith a school/college.- Actively contributes to the creation of communities of practice where EAs aresupported, developed, and provided with opportunity to network and share theirexperience.Building Careers and Enterprise Networks - working nationally, tailoring locally- Supporting EAs and Careers Leaders including induction and training, coordinatingnetwork meetings, and identifying and delivering ongoing training to meet individual EAsand CLs development needs.- Organise and attend regular school/college meetings that are outcome focused toensure progress is being made across all benchmarks and all priorities addressed.- Building and understanding the local context of careers provision and providersincluding National Apprenticeship Service, National Careers Service, and Job CentrePlus.- As per CEC reporting cycle, contribute to the monitoring and impact tracking of theNetwork.- Attending CEC national and local training events and meetings.Implementation and Impact- Regularly reviewing the network to ensure the members (at all levels) remain engagedand proactive, via communications, training, and support.- Staying abreast of best practice examples, emerging guidance and legislation- Track the progress of your schools/colleges (using a variety of tools and resources),identifying trends, gaps, and solutions.- Analysing and understanding the impact of the network on your local economy andskills strategy and feeding information back to CEC.The above duties are an illustrative outline and are not an exhaustive list. * The post is Temporary, for 22.2 hours (3 days) per week.
