We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Children's Residential Support Worker to join our team, focusing on providing support to vulnerable children and young people during crisis situations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of trauma and its effects on behavior, along with a commitment to creating safe and nurturing environments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide day-to-day support, including activities, appointments, and family contact, in line with individual care plans.
* Engage and encourage children and young people to participate in activities aimed at promoting their well-being.
* Maintain accurate records and reports to support the development of goals and care plans.
* Play a critical role in safeguarding and promoting the well-being of children and young people.
Required Experience:
* A minimum of 12 months experience supporting children and young people in a residential setting is essential for this role
* Confidence in managing heightened behaviors using de-escalation techniques.
* Ability to make decisions and take appropriate action in challenging situations.
* Proficiency in daily record-keeping with accuracy.
* Capability to remain calm during crisis situations, including instances of aggression, self-harm, and destructive behaviors.
* Understanding of how trauma and diagnoses can impact the behavior of children and young people.
